Simulated Payments

Every sandbox organization uses simulated payments.

Simulated payments keep the same fees, statuses, and API responses as production. Balances and blockchain transactions stay on the testnets.

Payouts

A payout completes unless you send it to a reserved account number. The reserved account number sets the result of the payout. Reserved account numbers exist for ARS, BOB, COP, MXN, PEN, and USD. A payout in a different currency always completes.

Select a currency to see its reserved account numbers.

A payout that completes or fails settles about 1 to 3 minutes after its blockchain transaction executes. A slow payout settles about 5 minutes or more after that transaction.

When a payout fails, Mural sends the funds back to your account as a testnet refund. Then the payout status changes to failed. The status shows the errorCode from the table.

Use Polygon (Amoy) for simulated payouts.

To send a payout from the platform, select Approve and confirm with your passkey. Then select Send Now on the Actions screen.

Payins

To start a payin, use the simulate Payin endpoint. The amount sets the result of the payin. Send amount.value in cents. Any other amount up to the rail maximum completes. The maximum is 50 USD for ACH and WIRE, 1,000 MXN for SPEI, 275 BRL for PIX, and 65,000 ARS for CVU. A larger amount returns a 400 error.

  • A payin that completes settles in about 3 to 4 minutes.
  • A payin that fails changes to failed in about 1 minute. No funds move.
  • A slow payin settles in about 7 minutes.

A payin needs an active payin capability for its currency. If the capability is not active, the endpoint returns a 403 CapabilityNotEnabledException.

In the sandbox, you cannot create a payin intent. To test a payin, use the simulate payin endpoint with a deposit account.
